MODERN SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING STATEMENT

Company: Spyder Motorcycles
Document owner: Company Management
Effective date: 28th September 2026
Review date: 27th September 2027
Version: 1.0

1. Introduction and Commitment

Spyder Events Ltd trading as Spyder Motorcycles is committed to conducting its business ethically, responsibly and with integrity. We recognise our responsibility to help prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation within our own operations and throughout our supply chain.

We adopt a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery in any form and are committed to ensuring that our business practices, employment arrangements and supplier relationships reflect this commitment.

This statement has been prepared in support of our work as a supplier of motorcycle servicing, maintenance, fleet management and logistics services, including services provided under government and public sector contracts.

We support the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and will take proportionate and reasonable steps to identify, prevent and address the risk of modern slavery in our business and supply chain.

2. Our Business and Supply Chain

Spyder Motorcycles is a UK-based small business providing motorcycle-related services, including:

  • Motorcycle servicing, maintenance, repairs and inspections.
  • Motorcycle fleet management and operational support.
  • Collection, delivery, transportation and logistics of motorcycles and associated equipment.
  • Procurement of motorcycle parts, consumables, tools and workshop equipment.
  • Support for events, vehicle movements and other customer requirements.
  • Engagement with external suppliers, transport providers, contractors and specialist service providers where required.

Our business primarily operates within the UK. Our supply chain may include motorcycle manufacturers, parts distributors, equipment suppliers, couriers, vehicle transport companies, contractors and other service providers.

We recognise that risks may arise within supply chains even where our own workforce and day-to-day operations are relatively small. We therefore seek to work with reputable suppliers and maintain appropriate oversight of the businesses and individuals engaged to support our services.

3. Our Zero-Tolerance Policy

Spyder Motorcycles will not knowingly engage in, support or tolerate any activity involving modern slavery or human trafficking.

We expect all employees, workers, contractors, suppliers and business partners to act lawfully and ethically and to respect the rights and dignity of individuals.

We will not knowingly work with any organisation that uses or facilitates:

  • Forced, compulsory, bonded or involuntary labour.
  • Human trafficking, slavery or servitude.
  • Child labour that is unlawful or exploitative.
  • The withholding of identity documents as a means of controlling workers.
  • Recruitment fees, threats, coercion or debt arrangements used to exploit workers.
  • Unlawful withholding of wages or restrictions on a worker’s freedom to leave employment.
  • Threats, intimidation or other abusive treatment intended to prevent workers from exercising their rights.

Where credible concerns are identified, we will investigate appropriately and take proportionate action. This may include requesting further information, requiring corrective action, suspending new work or terminating a supplier relationship or contract where justified and legally permissible.

4. Employment Practices

Spyder Motorcycles is committed to fair and lawful employment practices.

We aim to ensure that individuals working for our business:

  • Are legally entitled to work in the UK where applicable.
  • Are engaged on clear and transparent employment or contractual terms.
  • Receive wages and other entitlements in accordance with applicable legislation.
  • Are treated fairly, respectfully and without intimidation or exploitation.
  • Can raise concerns about their working conditions without fear of retaliation.
  • Are not required to surrender identity documents or pay unlawful recruitment fees.
  • Work in conditions that meet applicable employment and health and safety requirements.

Where agency workers, temporary workers or subcontractors are engaged, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that the arrangements are legitimate and that workers are treated appropriately.

5. Supplier Due Diligence and Supply Chain Management

As a small business, Spyder Motorcycles adopts a proportionate, risk-based approach to supplier due diligence. We recognise that the level of checking required will depend on the nature of the supplier, the services provided and the potential risks involved.

Our approach includes, where appropriate:

  • Using established and reputable suppliers and contractors.
  • Considering a supplier’s reputation, business practices and ability to demonstrate lawful employment arrangements.
  • Requesting confirmation that suppliers comply with applicable employment legislation and do not knowingly use forced labour or exploitative working practices.
  • Reviewing relevant supplier policies, contractual commitments or other evidence where the level of risk warrants it.
  • Considering the origin of goods and components, particularly where products or materials may be sourced through complex international supply chains.
  • Reviewing the use of subcontractors and third-party labour involved in delivering our services.
  • Investigating credible concerns raised about a supplier or business partner.
  • Taking appropriate action where a supplier fails to address identified concerns.

We will seek to ensure that relevant contractual arrangements for government and public sector work include appropriate obligations concerning modern slavery, where required by the customer or contract.

6. Risk Assessment

We recognise that modern slavery risks can occur in any industry. Within our business, we consider the following areas when assessing potential risks:

Motorcycle parts and equipment: Some components, raw materials, tools and workshop products may originate from international supply chains where working conditions and labour practices vary.

Logistics and transportation: Third-party transport providers, couriers and subcontractors may engage workers through complex employment arrangements, creating potential risks relating to wages, working hours and labour exploitation.

Contractors and temporary labour: Workers supplied through agencies or subcontractors may be vulnerable to exploitation if recruitment and employment arrangements are not properly managed.

Cleaning, facilities and other support services: External service providers may employ lower-paid or temporary workers who could be vulnerable to poor working conditions or exploitation.

We consider these risks when selecting suppliers, reviewing contractual arrangements and responding to concerns. Our current approach is based on the size and nature of our business, the suppliers we use and the information reasonably available to us.

We will review our assessment if our business activities, supply chain or contractual obligations change significantly.

7. Reporting Concerns

Spyder Motorcycles encourages employees, contractors, suppliers and other relevant parties to report any suspected instance of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour or exploitation connected with our business or supply chain.

Concerns may be raised directly with company management or through the reporting arrangements specified in the relevant customer contract.

All concerns will be taken seriously and considered promptly. Where appropriate, we will make further enquiries, retain relevant records, seek specialist advice and notify the relevant customer, contracting authority or law enforcement body in accordance with applicable legal requirements and contractual obligations.

We will not knowingly tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.

Where there is an immediate risk to an individual’s safety, the appropriate emergency services or relevant authorities should be contacted.

8. Training and Awareness

As a small business, we aim to ensure that management and relevant employees understand the risks associated with modern slavery and know how to identify and report concerns.

We will provide proportionate information and guidance to staff, particularly those involved in recruitment, procurement, supplier selection, subcontractor management and government contract delivery.

Where appropriate, we will use relevant government guidance and recognised resources to support awareness and understanding.

We will review training and awareness requirements periodically and when relevant risks or contractual obligations change.

9. Monitoring and Effectiveness

Spyder Motorcycles will monitor the effectiveness of its approach through proportionate measures, which may include:

  • Reviewing whether relevant suppliers have been considered for modern slavery risks.
  • Recording concerns raised and the actions taken in response.
  • Reviewing supplier compliance where concerns or elevated risks are identified.
  • Confirming that relevant contractual requirements have been communicated to employees, contractors and suppliers.
  • Reviewing awareness and training arrangements for relevant personnel.
  • Assessing whether identified issues have been resolved and whether further action is required.

We will use the results of these reviews to improve our approach and address any weaknesses identified.

We recognise that the absence of reported concerns does not, by itself, demonstrate that modern slavery risks are absent.

10. Government and Public Sector Contracts

When delivering government or public sector contracts, Spyder Motorcycles will comply with applicable legal requirements and the relevant contractual provisions relating to modern slavery and human trafficking.

We will cooperate reasonably with customer requests for relevant information, assurances or evidence concerning our employment practices, suppliers and subcontractors, subject to applicable legal requirements and confidentiality obligations.

Where a suspected or confirmed instance of modern slavery may affect contract delivery, we will escalate the matter through the appropriate contractual and reporting channels and cooperate with the relevant authorities as required.

We recognise the importance of responsible procurement and will take reasonable steps to ensure that our own supply chain supports the ethical standards expected of public sector suppliers.

11. Responsibility and Review

Overall responsibility for implementing this statement rests with the management of Spyder Motorcycles.

Management is responsible for ensuring that this statement is communicated to relevant employees and that the business’s approach remains proportionate to its operations and contractual responsibilities.

This statement will be reviewed at least annually and updated when necessary to reflect changes in legislation, government guidance, business activities, supplier arrangements or customer requirements.
